		<description>Hi Marcia:

The Epson 1400 is a good choice (use the high capacity carts when you replace the inks for better value), but it is not as good with black and white as printers like the Epson R2400 or R2880, or the HP Pro B9180 or Pro B8850.

You can look for refurb Epson 1400&#039;s online for about $200. Check the Epson.com Clearance center.

Hope that helps,

<description>I am looking for a printer that uses archival inks or dyes. I want a great price but don\&#039;t want an ink hog. I need one that uses separate color cartridges so I don\&#039;t have to change all when one runs out. Obviously I am doing this on a tight budget.
Thanks
