For the work around to "work" you must be able to turn off color management in the printer driver. I own a Canon i9900 and an Epson R800 - the most current drivers for Snow Leopard for these printers are supplied by Apple, they are CUPS drivers, and they do not allow for color management to be turned off in the printer driver - which results in double profiling - can't even get the canned profiles from Red River for example to work on these printers with Snow Leopard when printing from PSCS2 or Lightroom 2.7 if you want the application to manage the color. Booting back into Tiger and all works well again. Are my printers scrap?

Hi Bard:

The main issue is more with when you are making new profiles, but you should do a test with any profiles after upgrading using a standard image, such as the ones I have linked to on this page:

http://www.inkjettips.com/chapters/chapter-2/
(see L2.2)

All the best,

Andrew

My question seemed to be chopped short. It is, will I be OK without the workaround if I'm using "canned" profiles from Epson, Moab and Museo, when I upgrade from CS3 to CS4 and from Mac OS 10.4.11 to OS 5.0?
